Slendydaddy showed what the loading screens of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms should look like in the next World of Warcraft expansion: Shadowlands. He published the concept on reddit.
The loading screens of the mainland of Azeroth in WoW depict the leaders of the races living there. However, the art has not changed for a long time, so it does not correspond to the current state of affairs. For example, the Alliance’s boot screen still shows King Varian Wrynn, who died in the Legion expansion pack. Slendydaddy replaced him with Anduin Wrynn. The user also removed from the image of the Eastern kingdoms Sylvanas, who left the Horde. He placed the Forsaken on the loading screen of Kalimdor, as the capital of this race, Undercity, was destroyed in the Battle for Azeroth add-on.
Users praised slendydaddy for the concepts of updated boot screens, but found a few flaws in them. The author did not add the blood elf ruler Lor’themar Theron to the Eastern kingdoms. Instead, slendydaddy portrayed Valira, who remains neutral. Users also doubt that Malfurion should be in the Eastern kingdoms, as the elves recaptured the Darkshore and remained in Kalimdor.
The World of Warcraft: Shadowlands expansion pack was unveiled during the BlizzCon 2019 trade show in Anaheim. The developers showed a cinematic movie in which Sylvanas destroyed the crown of the Lich King, thereby breaking the curtain between life and death and opening the way to the Dark Lands.
