Amid loud news about the purchase of ZeniMax Media company Microsoft netizens noticed on the list of vacancies belonging to the publishing house Bethesda Softworks studios Arkane Lyon (Dishonored 2, Deathloop) and Arkane austin (Prey). Specifically, in two of Arkane Lyon’s three vacancies, it is said that the studio is looking for talented engine programmers who will join the development team for a new, unannounced project.
Arkane Austin is hiring employees, citing the production of the next AAA game. It is not known what exactly it is about, but one of the vacancies mentions immersive gameplay, and the other asks for the position of a leading technical animator for skills in working with Unreal Engine 4, which may indicate that the studio has chosen this engine for its new project. It is also implied from several different job openings that the upcoming game will offer online components and ongoing post-release support.
In the light of yesterday’s announcement, it is not yet clear whether these games will be released on Playstation 5… Microsoft itself says it will consider the release of future Bethesda games on other consoles on an individual basis.
