Ubisoft has announced a new part of TrackMania – the release will take place soon

Studio Ubisoft nadeo working on a new part in a long-running arcade racing series Trackmania. The announcement was made as part of the championship finals TrackMania Grand League in french lyon.

More specifically, the developers are preparing to release a remake TrackMania Nations, the original version of which was released in 2006. The updated version will be called simply TrackMania and will be released on PC already May 5th. The authors promise regularly updated content, a variety of tracks and a new type of eSports component.

The game will offer official seasonal campaign, daily selection of race tracks and advanced features for creating your own tracks with new surfaces and special blocks. Finally, the developers are aimed at making the esports part of TrackMania accessible to both beginners and professional gamers. To do this, the game will host both daily open in-game competitions and international open leagues.

The original TrackMania Nations was a free game, however, what distribution model Ubisoft has identified for the remake has not yet been specified.
