On the official channel of the studio Bloober team there was a new video dedicated to the development of the expected psychological horror The medium… In the video, the authors spoke in more detail about the elaboration of one of the key features of the future game – the presence in it of two parallel realities that the heroine Marianne will have to study.
Senior Art Director Bloober team Damian Zhukovsky explained that in The Medium, the developers wanted to create a certain contrast between the world of people we are used to and the otherworldly reality where spirits live. The central instruments in this idea are color and contrast, where one layer of being retains a muted tone, and the second is full of bright, but at the same time gloomy shades.
The main sources of inspiration for the developers when creating two parallel worlds were the director’s films Roy Anderssonas well as works by a Polish artist Zdzislaw BeksiĆski…
Another important point for Bloober team there was a desire to fill the picture with as many details as possible. Locations in The Medium are capable of telling individual stories and setting the mood, while leaving players room for personal interpretations and impressions.
The Medium will be released already 28 January on consoles Xbox series x, Xbox series s, and PC… You can read more about the project in our preview…
