Publishing house Activision Blizzard entered into a long-term strategic partnership with the company Google, which will affect not only the development of games, but also the organization of e-sports events. This is stated in the official press release.
Now Google cloud will become a major service provider for Activion in the formation of the gaming infrastructure, as well as an exclusive streaming partner in all countries of the world except China. Instead Twitch eSports events like Overwatch league, Call of duty league and Hearthstone esports will be available for viewing through YouTube.
As stated in the statement, the use of Google’s facilities will also reduce ping in multiplayer battles and facilitate the work of internal studios. It’s about an advanced analytics system and artificial intelligence, with which the publisher wants to personalize in-game offers and diversify the gaming experience.
The fact that the platform is open will allow the implementation of innovative solutions in the future. Google added that the parties have long established close cooperation thanks to work in the mobile application market.
The first eSports event, which is officially available for viewing on Youtube, was the Call of Duty League, launched on January 24, in which 12 teams met in Minnesota. And on February 8, the Overwatch League starts.
