In the vastness of the streaming platform Twitch another scandal flares up, which can provoke another change in the rules of the site. We are talking about the problem of streams dedicated to ASMR…
The background is as follows. After the spring scandal with streams led by girls in swimsuits sitting in baths and pools, the administration nevertheless highlighted such content in a separate section (Hot tub streams) and introduced restrictions on working with advertisers. Because of this, streamers’ incomes fell sharply, so they began to look for alternative options for earning money.
The way out was the expansion into the ASMR streams section (this is when they quietly whisper, crunch and rustle into the microphone), which quickly turned into a branch of Hell on Earth. The content turned out to be peculiar. The average broadcast on Twitch of the new generation looks like this: a streamer in tight scaly pants (aka TikTok leggings) or a revealing outfit lies on the bed, turning her fifth point towards the camera, and licks the microphone with her tongue.
The frontmen were popular girls on the site Amouranth and IndieFoxx… At some point, they began to go crazy: fart into the microphone, flaunt animals in rubber masks, and so on. In social networks, people were horrified by such a plot twist. Special unhappy simple streamers and bloggers who specialize in regular ASMR content.
However, the Twitch administration nevertheless began to act, distributing bans to streamers Amouranth, IndieFoxx and ExoHydraX… True, the latter went on the attack, accusing the employees of the streaming site of racism (allegedly infringing on colored content creators, infringing upon them).
The key problem is that over the 10 years of the platform’s existence, the Twitch leadership has not been able to form a clear set of rules. For the same violation, two people can receive completely different punishments, and in the requirements of the site they are constantly looking for gaps, one of which has become streams in the bathtubs.
