TSMC will produce 7-nanometer chips for Intel

For half a century Intel she designed and produced her own processors. However, it seems that the blues’ monopoly is coming to an end in this regard. According to network sources, the corporation turned to a contract manufacturer TSMCto solve the accumulated problems with the development of the 7-nanometer process technology.

It is reported that the companies have already entered into a partnership agreement under which TSMC will produce not only the CPU, but also the GPU family Ponte vecchio… And although the list of specific models is not reported, it is likely that it will be the entire range of solutions – from junior to top-end.

It is noted that the production will first use a 7-nanometer process technology, and then its improved 6-nanometer version. The companies have not yet commented on this topic, but TSMC shares have already risen in price.

In addition to Intel, TSMC is counting on AMD, Apple, NVIDIA other. At the same time, analysts say that the production lines are already loaded almost to the maximum. So the competition for the power of the semiconductor giant is only a matter of time.

By the way, a law firm Hagens Berman in a press release said that investors affected by the decline in Intel shares due to revelations from management about the delay in the development of the 7nm process technology, may report it. Last Friday, the company’s securities plunged 16.5%.

Hagens Berman wants to prove that the hall corporation is about problems, but did nothing to solve them.
