Shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on next generation consoles Xbox series x and Playstation 5 will be able to work in 4K resolution and with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This was stated by VentureBeat creative director Treyarch Dan Bunting…
The developers tried to make the game as responsive as possible and to ensure that nothing interfered with the players on the technical side. However, the studio did not specify what exactly is meant by 4K / 120 Hz, so VentureBeat does not exclude that representatives of Treyarch “show themselves off”. The fact is that the journalist got acquainted with the video presentation, and did not play a shooter with the developers in the same room.
Solid state drives (SSDs) are another feature of the consoles, making loading screens a thing of the past and seamless switching between cinematics and gameplay. This also sounds rather strange, because in Modern Warfare 2019 cutscenes already masked loading screens on consoles (even worked on the base Xbox One).
The status of using ray tracing technology is also unknown, as Treyarch only talked about a redesigned global illumination system. At the same time, it is known that on the PC, the rays are used to draw more accurate shadows (as in Modern Warfare 2019).
Release Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is scheduled for November 13, 2023 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S, and on October 8, PS4 pre-orders will have access to the beta.
