Development studio Milestone and toy manufacturer Mattel presented the first official footage of the arcade race gameplay Hot wheels unleashed…
The project will take players into the tiny world of racing in the famous toy cars Hot Wheels along the dashing orange trails that run through the places of everyday life. The gameplay shown is based on an alpha build and features three racing episodes. You may notice that the tracks in the game do not offer power-ups in the style of Mario Kart, but there are various interactive obstacles, classic acceleration zones and a nitro scale that replenishes when performing tricks like jumping and drifting.
The final version of Hot Wheels Unleashed will offer on release a career mode, a split-screen for two players, online multiplayer for up to 12 people, 40 track layouts in six different locations, an editor for its own tracks and over 60 cars with the ability to create custom skins. After the release, the developers promise more content, both free and paid DLC.
Hot Wheels Unleashed will be released September 30th for Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Switch and PC. Pre-orders are already open:
