Studio developers Echtra games and company Perfect world entertainment decided to abandon the original concept Torchlight frontiers and turn this game into a full-fledged Torchlight IIIclose in spirit to the first parts of the series. They announced this today through a press release distributed through media channels.
Initially, it was assumed that Torchlight Frontiers will receive MMO elements and will become an offshoot from the main series, which will be distributed according to the shareware model with microtransactions. However, watching the reaction of the focus group and alpha testers, the developers decided to revise the plans and transformed the project into Torchlight III, which will be sold for money and will not receive a microtransaction system.
This summer the game will be released on PC on Steam, and then it will be moved to the console.
In the coming weeks and months, the authors will tell you more about the new product. So far, three classes of characters have managed to confirm for her – a warrior, engineer and mage. It is also reported that gamers will be able to pass Torchlight III both online and offline.
After the launch, continuous support with new content is planned.
