On the recording, the actor can be heard in a rude manner to the members of the film crew, gathered around the computer monitor, threatening them with dismissal.
“I don’t want to see this again. Never. And if you do it again, you will be fired … If it happens again, you disappear to hell,” Tom Cruise shouted. “Period! No apology. Tell that to the people who are losing their homes due to the shutdown of our industry. You won’t put food on their table or pay for college.”
Tom Cruise also mentioned that the ongoing filming of the seventh film in the Mission: Impossible franchise under such challenging conditions serves as an example for the whole of Hollywood, because during production, the team responsibly adheres to security protocols.
“They returned to Hollywood and are now making films thanks to us. Because they believe in us and in what we do,” Cruz said. “I talk on the phone with every fucking studio in the evenings, insurance companies, producers, and they take us as an example.”
The 58-year-old actor also called on film crew to report security breaches to Matt Spooner, who is a COVID-19 observer on set.
Filming for Mission Impossible 7 was suspended in February due to the outbreak of the coronavirus in Italy. Film production resumed in September.
