Todd Howard on the status of The Elder Scrolls VI: The game is in the design and engine testing phase

Head of Bethesda Game Studios Todd Howard gave an interview to Telegraph Gaming, during which he commented The Elder Scrolls VI and the Indiana Jones project.

According to Howard, The Elder Scrolls VI will use Creation Engine 2, which is currently being built Starfield… The engine acts as a technological base for both projects, but TES VI will have its own special technological “kits” that are required for this particular game. Now the developers are just testing the engine, checking whether it can cope with all the ideas, but the game itself is still at the design stage.

“The vast majority of work is currently being done on Starfield, but everyone on the team is busy with the common process, so the projects seem to intertwine.”

As for the project on Indiana Jonescreated by Machine GamesHoward noted that he is a longtime fan of the hero and first approached George Lucas to make such a game back in 2009. Since then, attempts have been made to implement the idea. In the end, the Machine Games team turned out to be the best option, and the next time the idea was presented to Lucas and Disney, they liked everything. The project was finally launched.

“Machine Games are the best team in the world to make this game. They did a phenomenal job.”

Starfield releases on November 11, 2023. The other two projects, apparently, are still very far from release.
