Western adaptation of an Oscar-winning South Korean film “Parasites“will not be a remake, as previously thought, but will tell a completely new story in the same universe. This was revealed by one of the executive producers and screenwriter Adam McKay, who also confirmed that the director of the original film, Bong Joon Ho, is involved in the project.
Moreover, Adam McKay reported that production of the miniseries, which is scheduled for six episodes, is currently in full swing. He did not disclose the details of the plot.
The film “Parasites” was released in 2019 and won the 2023 Oscars for Best Film, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Foreign Feature Film.
