The courts of St. Petersburg urgently evacuated, as letters from the Witcher began to arrive en masse with threats of the explosion of all buildings.
In the city of St. Petersburg, the entire evacuation takes place in different district courts, Gamebomb.ru reports. An attacker or group of attackers sends out threat messages. They are talking about the fact that courthouses and various educational institutions are mined. All letters end with one phrase: “Let Malofei the Witcher pay with a minted coin.” This is a modified quote from the song of the bard Lyutik, the character of the series “The Witcher” from Netflix. He sang it in the finale of the second episode of the first season. The chorus of the song has become a popular meme.
The authors of the letter require the entrepreneur and founder of the Tsargrad group Konstantin Malofeev to “return” 120 bitcoins from the WEX exchange, Gamebomb.ru reports. This is about 54 million rubles. Attackers and fans of The Witcher warned the editorial office of the Tsargrad television channel in advance that they would arrange a series of false mining if they did not receive the required amount in cryptocurrency. Malofeyev’s press service said that neither the entrepreneur nor his structures are in any way connected with the WEX exchange or any kidnapping of bitcoins.
The joint press service of the courts of St. Petersburg announced the evacuation of Zelenogorsky, Dzerzhinsky, Krasnogvardeisky, Petrodvoretsky, Kuibyshevsky, Vasileostrovsky, Sestroretsky, Kolpinsky and Petrograd district courts. Almost all of them were checked as soon as possible by law enforcement officers, after which they returned to work. The threats also dealt with the mining of higher education institutions. Earlier, Pulkovo Airport was mentioned in a similar threat. Apparently, fans of the series The Witcher will continue to send out false mining threats.
