Server hackers CD Projekt, as they threatened, put up the source codes for auction Cyberpunk 2077, Gwent, unreleased version The Witcher 3 and other assets and internal documents. On “dark” forums Exploit appeared offer with a starting price of one million dollars.
The trades, however, did not last long. how reports resource KLEI, the owners of illegal mining have received a proposal that satisfies them. Earlier it was announced that it is possible to buy out the lot without bidding for $ 7 million. Whether this price was received is unknown.
CD Projekt has said it will not bid with hackers and pay a ransom to recover its data. They, in turn, promised that they would not re-sell or otherwise distribute the stolen assets.
It remains unknown who exactly now “owns” a substantial part of CD Projekt’s intellectual property and how this will affect the company in the future. So far, in particular, it is not known for sure whether the personal data of employees has become the prey of hackers.
