The State Duma proposed to co-finance the development of Russian games – Gambling

State Duma deputy Vasily Vlasov (LDPR) sent Deputy Prime Minister Maxim Akimov a proposal that the state could co-finance the development of domestic video games, for which it is proposed to create a special fund. According to the representative of the party, this will improve the situation in the Russian game dev.

The Russian IT industry has always been considered one of the strongest in the world, and Russian programmers are in great demand in the largest companies, so it is necessary to stimulate the creation of large game projects with economic mechanisms. If you create a really high-quality product, the costs will fully pay off, and the project will bring developers a lot of money. The state could take on the co-financing of the creation of computer games on the terms of the return of allocated funds.

The deputy believes that it is financial development costs that inhibit the emergence of domestic games, since it is easier and cheaper for developers to create mobile applications. According to Vlasov, the global video game market is estimated at about $ 100 billion, which is almost three times the movie market.

So far, nothing has been reported on Akimov’s reaction to this proposal.
