The Pillars of Eternity 2 development manager must sing a song to one of the players

In May 2019, the developers Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire of Obsidian added the ultimate challenge to the game. In it, players need to complete an RPG at the maximum difficulty level, with the tests of all the gods, one character and with a single save slot, which is removed after death.

Then the authors promised that the names of the first 12 players who passed this test will be engraved on a plaque that will be permanently hung in the Obsidian office. By the beginning of 2023, there were 11 such players.

In early February, Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Development Lead Josh Sawyer statedthat will record a cover of the song I Will Always Love You, which will dedicate 12 players if they pass the Ultimate Test without using the Priest of Skane or Blood Mage subclasses.
All the previous 11 players have used these subclasses. Sawyer explainedthat the Priests can throw a protective sphere over Vela, the child the players must protect. Priests of Skane have the power of invisibility, and Blood Mages can restore their magical resources.

A month later, someone completed the ultimate test with Sawyer’s condition. It turned out to be a certain Riccardo Novello, whose name appeared on a sign in the Obsidian office this week.

Sawyer planned to record his promised cover at the end of last month, but it is not yet known whether he will publish it online or send only Novello.
