The first game of the Shining Force series in thirteen years will be a shareware for mobile devices, with colorful characters and a built-in game store, presumably with gacha mechanics. Its release should take place in the first half of 2023 after beta testing.
The developers promise to bring their unique worldview and storyline based on the setting of the series to the classic series. The new Shining Force should appeal to both those with fond memories of the series and newcomers alike.
The first game of the series, Shining in the darkness, was released in 1991. Until now, the newest part of the cycle has been Shining force 3, which appeared in 1997-1998 in the form of three scripts, but not all of them came out outside of Japan.
