The last fighter of season one add-ons for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate became Baylet – the main character Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Fighting Development Manager Masahiro Sakurai introduced it in today’s 35 minute presentation. Players will be able to play both for the male version of the character, and for the female. Debuts on the roster on January 29th.
Theories about adding Dante or Crash Bandicoot to the game, actively discussed by fans in recent days, have not been confirmed. Sakurai himself was once again called the troll – among some fans it has long been believed that Super Smash Bros. too many characters from Fire Emblem, and today announced another one. The developer at the presentation joked and laughed a lot.
The presentation also showed new costumes for Mii fighters – “Rabbits” from Ubisoft, Altair from Assassin’s Creed, Megamen from Mega Man X and MegaMan.EXE, as well as Cuphead from Cuphead. When buying an image of the latter, players will also have the opportunity to fight in “Smash” with a musical composition from Cuphead.
Finally, Sakurai spoke at the presentation of the second season of add-ons for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate It will include six DLC fighters (there were five in the first). They are going to work out and release them. until the end of 2023. That is, for about two years the army of fans will build theories and hope for the appearance of their favorites in the game.
Sakurai emphasized that all the fighters have already been selected and approved, therefore the proposals and wishes that are sent to him on Twitter on hundreds of days will not change anything..
New characters will be available for purchase both separately from each other, and as part of the second combat coupon, which will appear in eShop January 29, 2023. As a bonus for paying it, players will be given a bonus costume for the Mii-swordsman, based on ancient equipment from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
