The Last of Us series will deviate from the game in some elements – review addiction

In an interview with IGN Neil Druckmann talked about exactly how the film adaptation will change The last of us for HBO, in comparison with the original.

According to him, the main desire of the authors was to convey the spirit and atmosphere of the world, as well as the essence of the characters. But questions like “did the hero wear a shirt of the same color as in the game” were not so important for them.

In addition, according to Druckmann, the first season of the series really tells about the events of the first part, but viewers can expect a number of changes. In particular, this is due to the fact that in the original the user had to participate in episodes where the game mechanics are corny.

In the show, this is not required, so all these elements were replaced with additional dramatic scenes and the like. Apparently, there won’t be as much action in the show as in the game.

At the same time, Druckmann added that individual episodes in the series literally repeat the game word for word. However, the author especially liked some of the episodes that differ from the original.

There is no exact date for the premiere of the film adaptation; the director of the debut episodes is Kantemir Balagov (“Dylda”). The main roles will be played Bella Ramsay (“Game of Thrones”) and Pedro Pascal (“The Mandalorian”).
