Analytical company NPD Group published a report on the best-selling games and consoles in the United States for August 2023. A strong love for American football, the simulator became the number one bestseller of the month Madden NFL 21 from EA. The new game in the series boasts a double-digit percentage increase in sales over the NFL 20. In addition, the release from EA quickly became one of the biggest hits of 2023, where it now ranks 6th.
Next in the ranking is the mixed martial arts simulator UFC 4which became the second bestseller in August, breaking a series record for first month sales.
An action-adventure game boasted an impressive achievement The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild… In August, it became the sixth-largest bestseller on the Switch console and 11th in the overall chart, but the main thing is different: the hit from Nintendo continues to demonstrate record exposure – it remains on the Switch hitlist for 42 months, and all the time goes above the seventh place…
This allowed Breath of the Wild to become one of the most successful Nintendo products in the United States in terms of sales revenue ever. Zelda is included in this rating for the first time.
“The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the tenth largest bestseller ever released on Nintendo platforms in US history.” said NPD analyst Mat Piscatella.

Nintendo Switch is once again the top-selling console of the month. Sales have doubled from last year’s August. In addition, the Switch surpassed the August 2008 Wii record in August 2023, according to analysts.
