Before starting the development of F.I.S.T .: Forged in Shadow Torch, the TiGames studio team outlined several pillars on which its debut game will be held.
The first is the setting. The plot of the game unfolds in a fictional world inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. At some point, machines invaded their quiet life and seized power. The protagonist of the game – a rabbit named Rayton – hid in hiding for six years, but was forced to leave him after the cars abducted his friend.
The second is the uniqueness of the locations and a large number of secrets. According to the developers, they made a lot of efforts to make the game world seem believable. Game designers have made sure that each level does not get out of the general style of a diesel engine, but the user always sees the differences between locations. For this, the authors use “subtle and barely noticeable tricks.” There will be no downloads between game areas, and they will be filled with various secrets.
The third is a dynamic combat system with combinations of punches. The developers said they love action games, so they tried to make the battles in F.I.S.T .: Forged in Shadow Torch interesting. Rayton has three weapons: a big fist, a drill, and whips. The drill is very slow, but does more damage, with the help of whips, the rabbit attacks quickly, but the damage is minor, and the fist is the golden mean. The authors said that the game will have several dozen varieties of opponents. Both ordinary fighters and bosses are promised.
Fourth – diesel engine aesthetics implemented on Unreal Engine 4. According to the authors, this particular setting is best suited for their story, despite its lesser popularity compared to cyberpunk or steampunk. Buildings and locations in F.I.S.T .: Forged in Shadow Torch are made in oriental style with an admixture of distinctive elements of a diesel punk.
