It became known which of the films produced in Russia produced the largest box office in history, ahead of not only domestic competitors, but also foreign ones.
The Russian film “Serf” has become the most successful film in the history of domestic film distribution, Gamebomb.ru reports. Since December 26, 2019, comedy has already earned more than 3,044 million rubles. This result allowed the picture to get around the previous record holder – the sports drama “Upward Movement”. This film at the box office has collected a little more than 3043 million rubles. It is worth noting that these figures take into account not only Russian fees, but also fees in other CIS countries. This indicator is usually estimated by Hollywood companies and regional distributors.
Separately, the results are calculated only in Russia. So “Upward Movement” still holds the first line, Gamebomb.ru reports. The sports drama has 2,968 million rubles, and the comedy “Serf” has only 2,941 million. Experts believe that the film will earn the remaining 27 million rubles before the end of the week. However, “Upward Movement” holds another record – the total number of viewers. The halls of the “Serf” were visited by 11.58 million spectators. A sports film was watched by 12.44 million.
It is worth noting that the “Serf” went around collecting not only all domestic films, but also most of the foreign ones. The only film that has earned more at the box office of the CIS is the fantastic blockbuster Avatar. The gunman collected 3639.5 million rubles.
The film “The Serf” directed by Klim Shipenko with Milos Bikovich in the title role talks about the son of an oligarch. Father decides to teach him a lesson after the next trick of the “major”. He hires people who create for the son of an oligarch a village from the time of tsarist Russia and make him believe that he is a serf.
