Intel announced the formation of the brand Intel Arc, within which video cards for PCs and laptops will be released – the first will appear in early 2023.
According to representatives of the company, the initiative will cover several generations of equipment at once, and the first is based on the Xe-HPG microarchitecture and was codenamed Alchemist. Other generations have acquired the nicknames Battlemage, Celestial and Druid.
The first generation will support hardware ray tracing, Direct X 12 Ultimate, and AI-based supersampling technology. Specific data on the products, however, were not disclosed. Besides, Intel is going to release software.
The debut batch of Alchemist generation products will appear in the first quarter of 2023, with detailed technical details to be revealed later this year.
