The Australian ratings agency reported that three commissioners unanimously issued Disco Elysium: The Final Cut R18 + rating (for persons aged 18 and over). The issue of such a rating was influenced by the theme of the game, mate and references to drugs.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut was originally slated to release in Australia on March 30, but the rating agency denied the game an age rating. Disco Elysium is sold in Australia on PC in digital stores, but rating is required for retail and console releases.
The commission convened at the request of the studio ZA / UM, decided to cancel the rejection of the age rating, since the game does not necessarily encourage drug use. For example, regular drug use has negative consequences for progress.
Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is available now on PS5, PS4, and PC, with an extended edition coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series and Switch this summer. The update is free for all game owners.
