Four characters against their creator
The plot hint offered by the demo includes the prologue and the first chapter of the game. The story itself can be described with the term metaromanzes . We will experience the story from the point of view of Ramfis Chan, a twenty-five-year-old man who wants to become a writer. Doing so with a chaotic life has finally ended its first novel. Things will get co
mplicated when four people mysteriously appear in your home. Ramfis will not make much to recognize them as the four main characters of his book. Such a controversy will prevent him from sending the manuscript in good time to the publisher, but he will stil
l be able to tear up eight days to re-examine it. Each day of the story will be dedicated to one of the chapters in his book. In these notorious
“eight days” Ramfis will have to deal with the fact that he has to rewrite his debut novel, and it will not take long before he realizes that the other four are just the characters of his own book. The work of the young man will then pass through the encounter with these “literary children”. Scott is the older man, Dee Dee the inconceivable and intim
idating manager, Barry an alcoholic Irishman who runs dating sites, and Elizabeth a teenage intellectual. Needless to say, these characters will not be good with him: as far as their personalities are profoundly different, everyone agrees that the novel is literally
disgusting. Through these four parts of his mind Ramfis will count on his own creativity. His characters will be distributed in the fou
r rooms of his apartment; once listened to everyone you can go back to the bedroom and decide from time to time who to give straight. Ironia citazionistica
Already from the demo, it is clear that the developer’s goal is to put in place first of all an ironic representation of both the novice novel and the editorial surrounding him. This is also done by adopting a bit extreme attitudes: Ramfis is portrayed
as an overwhelming excess, college out of course a bit “hipster”. Obviously it may just be a starting point, but the demo’s limited time makes it obviously impossible to say whether it will deny or develop. So it is also obvious that we can not yet know
how many and which potential will offer the full script. The vision of the novel is in fact the choices they make to the protagonist, and unfortunately the demo closes right after selecting the first of these. In that sense it’s a bit of a shame,
