The creators of Life is Strange present: Tell Me Why, with a transgender hero, an Queer Indian will appear – new screenshots

French studio DONTNOD Entertainment showed new shots from the adventure game Tell me whycreated with the support of the team Xbox Game Studios corporations Microsoft exclusive to consoles Xbox and PC.

The first three screenshots below demonstrate the new character, Michael Alibu, who positions himself as a queer – a person who does not correspond to a heterosexual or cisgender identity. He is the best friend of the main character of the game – Alison.

Michael is a Tlingit Indian, a representative of the indigenous people of southeastern Alaska and the surrounding territories of Canada. He studies as a chef, and in the future he dreams of leaving the small town of Delos Crossing in the capital of Alaska, Juneau.

Tell Me Why is described as a “mysterious yet life story about personal experiences,” the protagonists of which are the twins Tyler and Alison Ronan, using a special ability to relive memories of their emotionally difficult childhood. The game was created with the support of the LGBT organization for the protection of the rights of sexual minorities GLAAD, which, in particular, helped to work out the identity of Tyler, a transgender.

According to Microsoft’s official description, Tyler is the first playable transgender protagonist among game heroes from major studios and major publishers. Prior to this, there were no such characters in releases from leading manufacturers.

Tell Me Why is coming out this year. The page has already appeared on Steam.
