The creators of Humankind abandoned Denuvo – Igromania

Turn-based global strategy developers Humankind after analyzing the performance of the closed beta of the game, they decided to abandon Denuvo – she too noticeably influenced the work of the project.

Initially, the team wanted to use DRM to protect against piracy – the studio spent 4 years creating the project and did not want the work to be decimated by piracy, especially given the increased interest in the new product.

Steam users have been very active in adding our game to their wishlist – we are in the lead this year. Therefore, it is obvious that pirates are also interested in the new product much more than in our previous releases. If Denuvo can pause the hack for at least a few days, it would help us a lot.“.

However, the introduction of DRM, unfortunately, can affect the quality of the final product and the experience of the players – and this the developers cannot sacrifice. Therefore, according to the results, it was decided to abandon Denuvo in the full version of the project.

Humankind is out on PC only on August 17th.
