The Chinese continue to buy the industry – Tencent acquired part of the shares of Yager, known for Spec Ops: The Line

Chinese corporation Tencent continues to invest in gaming companies around the world, expanding its own portfolio of securities. Today it turned out that a giant from the Middle Kingdom acquired a stake in a German company Yager, known, in particular, for the creation of an action movie Spec Ops: The Line.

Details of the transaction were not disclosed. According to the German press, there is every reason to believe that Tencent took possession of a very large stake – bought from 10% to 49% of Yager.

Financial injections should help the studio with the development of shareware shooter The cycle and the creation of new projects for consoles, PCs and mobile devices.

Earlier this year, Tencent invested in a Japanese studio. Platinum games and expressed a desire to completely absorb Funcom. The management of the latter recommended that investors sell their shares to Tencent on favorable terms.
