The best RPL players in PES 2023 – from Akinfeev to Dziuba

To assemble the RPL roster, we, according to the precepts of Stanislav Cherchesov, will follow the 4-2-3-1 scheme, which was most often used by the Russian national team in the qualifying stage for Euro 2023.
Goalkeeper
- In the main line-up: Igor Akinfeev (79).
- On the bench: Andrey Lunev (79) and Marinato Guilherme (79).
All three footballers in PES 2023 have a rating of 79, but Igor Akinfeev has a higher goalkeeper performance. CSKA’s goal guard has a little worse with fixing the ball – 81 against 83 and 84 for Lunev and Guilherme, respectively. But Akinfeev is ahead of the competition due to his high goalkeeping skills (88), reaction (89) and the reflection zone (87). Although Akinfeev’s rating has dropped by one point compared to the previous part of PES, he still deserves the title of the best RPL goalkeeper in the framework of a football simulator from Konami.
Left back
- Main line-up: Douglas Santos (80).
- On the bench: Christian Ramirez (77) and Georgy Schennikov (76).
Compared to the previous part, Douglas Santos from Zenit added one point in the overall rating. He has a high speed (81) and acceleration (84), while the cross and passes are quite good for his position, which makes him effective when connecting to the attack. A stamina of 83 will allow him to close the curb throughout the meeting. Christian Ramirez from Krasnodar is similar in characteristics to Santos, but in almost all not much, but inferior. Shchennikov is a more defensive option, he is weaker in attack, but he knows how to defend better.
Right back
- Main line-up: Mario Fernandez (82).
- On the bench: Vladislav Ignatiev (79).
The easiest position to choose in RPL. CSKA’s Mario Fernandez has good speed and stamina, but he is good in all defensive aspects, especially heading. He is also quite confident in his position in control of the ball. However, if you want to hang from the edge to the center, then it is better to use the left flank – with transfers for Fernandez, things are worse than for Douglas Santos. Instead of Mario on the field, you can put Vladislav Ignatiev from Lokomotiv, but this will be an unequal replacement.
Central defenders
- In the main line-up: Georgy Jikia (81), Deyan Lovren (80).
- On the bench: Yaroslav Rakitskiy (81), Vedran Chorluka (80).
Georgy Dzhikia from Spartak has a high speed for CB (79) and good performance in all defensive aspects, except for jumping ability. His team-mate Dejan Lovren from Zenit will have to fill this gap. It is not as mobile, but more powerful and jumpy. You can always replace Lovren’s teammate, Yaroslav Rakitskiy, who has an excellent first pass, good endurance, but weak heading. Vedran Chorluka from Lokomotiv is similar to Lovren – a tall, powerful CZ, but not fast and hardy enough.
Defensive midfielders
- In the main line-up: Grzegorz Krychowiak (81) and Vilmar Barrios (82).
- On the bench: Roman Zobnin (81).
Vilmar Barrios from Zenit has a phenomenal endurance indicator (95), high speed (82), good physical data, improved defense skills and a good pass – the real engine of our team. Grzegorz Krychowiak from Lokomotiv is noticeably inferior to him in speed, endurance and ball control, but he compensates for this with his dispatching abilities and a powerful shot. Roman Zobnin from Spartak received an 81 rating in PES 2023. He also has good physical characteristics, plays well with the ball and can effectively help the defense.
Attacking midfielders
- In the main line-up: Nikola Vlasic (81), Malkom (82), Victor Klassen (80).
- On the bench: Anton Miranchuk (79), Remi Cabella (81), Zelimkhan Bakaev (79).
Nikola Vlašić from CSKA will look good in the center of midfield: speed (80) and dribbling (83) will allow him to effectively participate in attacks, and the force of impact (84) will help to complete combinations from outside the penalty area. Stamina (80) should be enough for him almost until the end of the meeting.
Closer to the right flank will be located Malcolm from “Zenith”. He is quite technical, with all ball control metrics above 84 and his sprint speed rating of 88. Malcolm is good at passes, crosses and shots, his only weakness is endurance (77). For an attacking midfielder gravitating towards the flank, this indicator indicates that the player will definitely not last the whole match.
Closer to the right flank we will place Viktor Klassen from Krasnodar. In terms of technical indicators and speed, he is noticeably inferior to Malcolm, but he has the best implementation of the moments (76), and the developers rated his ability to attack at 80 points (Malcolm has only 75). However, Klassen’s main advantage is endurance (88), he will definitely be able to plow the entire match from whistle to whistle.
Attack
- In the main line-up: Artem Dzyuba (83).
- On the bench: Serdar Azmun (81) and Fedor Chalov (79).
In PES 2023, Artyom Dziuba’s rating has increased by two points. Compared to the previous part, he added in balance, passing and speed, which is why he became more mobile and versatile. But the main thing is that the developers made Dzyuba even more physically powerful (95 stability), and his heading was rated at 92 points. Thanks to this, he fits perfectly into the scheme with one pronounced forward, who can close any attacks and fight well.
Artem can be replaced by his Zenit teammate Serdar Azmun and Fedor Chalov from CSKA. Both are inferior to Dziuba in size and power, but they are superior in speed.
