The authors of the game Aeon Must Die shown on the State of Play were at the center of the scandal – Igromania

State of Play showed Aeon must die – game Limestone Games and Focus Home… However, in the summer, a loud scandal occurred in the studio, which resulted in the departure of the entire creative team of the project.

The former developer of the project told reporters about this, attaching a lot of documents. At the end of June, 8 out of 13 employees left the studio – now only managers and a couple of programmers remain in it.

The reason for this rush is endless overwork, management’s refusal to pay overtime and harassment. All this was before the summer, but the exacerbation happened precisely in June. In addition, it became known that the founder of the studio had lost the rights to the company.

Several times the team tried to resolve the problems, including contacting the publisher in the person of Focus Home Interactive, but those, according to former developers, almost gave up on all this – everything is fine, we are working on.

Now negotiations with Focus Home are continuing – the creative team wants to continue developing the project directly with the publisher.

In addition, based on the documents provided, the Aeon Must Die commercial that debuted on State of Play cannot be shown. The fact is that it uses the work of outsourcers, whose work is still unpaid and not even formally formalized.

We have studied absolutely all the published materials, but it’s too early to say who is to blame for this story. Correspondences are presented in pieces, no one names specific employees, and the general meaning of all stories boils down to the fact that they had to rework, conduct new secret projects in parallel with the main one, work with unlicensed software, well, all this without any additional payments. It seemed to be mixed with work without contracts and the payment of salaries in cash.

According to the “creative team”, now there is simply no one to work on the game, and the publisher was asked to postpone the premiere of the trailer for a number of reasons. However, Focus Home refused to do so, as the Sony event debut is very important for marketing.
