The authors of Dying Light 2 talked about parkour, weapons and crafting – an exclusive “Igromania”

Creators Dying light 2 do not get tired of talking about the expected zombie action: they previously held a show dedicated to monsters, parkour and the combat system, and now they decided to reveal a little more detail about the last two.

And they did all this in a video available with Russian subtitles only on “review addiction“!

Chief Game Designer Tymon Smectala and senior producer Cornel Yaskula told about the battles and survival, as well as the creation of items.

At the same time, even the developers themselves cannot unequivocally say whether Dying Light 2 is primarily about fights or about survival?

Indeed, in general, the game has many different opportunities for passing: from using stealth to forming an environment, depending on the decisions made. In addition, sometimes you can do without a battle altogether.

On the other hand, this is not a survivalist, where you need to think about food and resources, as well as build shelters – however, the elements of a “survivor” are also present in the project. Where can we go without it in a zombie action movie?

By the way, as Smektana said, the developers may additionally think about it after the release.

However, no matter how different some individual elements of the game may be, they can be successfully combined – and the creators of Dying Light 2 just recommend that gamers combine all the available possibilities.

Some elements of parkour are intended only for combat: for example, players will be able to stun opponents, using them to push off and hit another enemy. Or even effectively put an end to the battle, making a powerful blow to the ground.

Moreover, the creators of the game emphasize that all this will be available to all players, even those who are not particularly familiar with various action movies. So everyone can create such combinations that will amaze everyone around.

And last but not least, the developers of Dying Light 2 have significantly improved the crafting system in comparison with the first part. Players can both modify items and create them from scratch – including lockpicks, potions, grenades and more.

And you can improve things by helping the Masters, who give the player small tasks (most often, to collect resources), and then improve the hero’s blueprints (usually such blueprints have nine levels) so that the items we create are more effective.

Their characteristics can increase, plus sometimes blueprints can offer the player something unique. For example, the ability to stick explosives on the enemy.

The modification system has become much more flexible and complex: each weapon has three modification slots, and any mod can be placed in any slot. So one and the same machete can conditionally increase the damage by adding an electric shock on hit, or controllability by implementing fire damage in the area.
