The author of the Star Wars series Acolyte spoke about the love of RPG and the creation of the show – Igromania

The action of the project will unfold at sunset Rise of the Republicwhen the power of the dark side in the galaxy began to manifest itself more clearly, and the plot also tells about some “dark secrets”. Overall, the series has been described as a “mystical thriller”.

According to Hadland, the franchise has always been present in her life, albeit to varying degrees. She especially loves the original trilogy, and the moment when Vader decides to save Luke, forever imprinted in her mind. In particular, the face of the dark lord is not visible at the same time, but the viewer understands all the emotions of the hero.

She also read works Timothy Zana about Thrawnhowever her favorite Star Wars format is RPG. She is generally close to this genre, since it makes it possible to create your character from scratch and become a part of the larger universe.

At the same time, she believes that the strength of the series lies in the variety of interpretations – people get to know the franchise at different periods of life, and some moments may be perceived differently. Therefore, some of the writing team were not even familiar with the originals prior to working on the series, which provided a new perspective when creating the plot.

Some of the authors were surprised that Hadland personally sent out explanations about the era and various characters in the universe, but she just got more pleasure from it.

In general, Hadland ironically compared her work with the command Jean-Luc Picard of Star Trek, who tries to hear different points of view, even if they differ from his views. According to the screenwriter, she did not want to be surrounded by people who agree with every word said.

Hadland added that she also likes the prequels, although they did not capture her as much, since at that time she was much older than when she watched the originals. However, she was always interested in discussing these films (including criticism) and it seems that one feature of the prequels will appear in the series, namely politics.

The author is always surprised by the request to “remove politics” from the franchise, since he himself added it in the prequels George Lucas – and the war, in principle, “cannot do without this topic.” Hadland is generally admired for Lucas’ love of cinema and his ability to successfully mix different genres.

The exact date of the premiere of the series is not yet available.
