Communications and Content Manager Sucker Punch Productions Justin Massongil told in the blog Playstationhow to use photo mode correctly in Ghost of tsushima, and at the same time provided some impressive shots from the first act of the game.
Wind
Ghost of Tsushima Photo Mode allows you to change the direction and speed of the wind. Taking advantage of the given opportunity, players, for example, can make the cloak flutter behind Jin’s back, or the grass sway at his feet.
When creating a static shot, the authors recommend turning off the environment animation so that some objects, such as flowers in the wind or flowing water, do not turn out blurry.
Light and shadow
When working with the photomode, as in real life, it is important to consider lighting and how light interacts with the object. Players need to choose the type of shadows from different angles and do not forget to use the time of day and weather settings.
In addition, the authors advise:
- use focal length when building composition
- look around carefully
The camera is tied to Jin, but it can be distant to a great distance and focus not on the hero, but on the world around him.
One of the most interesting features of photo mode is the ability to switch between different color patterns. Among them there are those that allow you to remove all colors from the screen.
For example, Ginkgo Mode enhances shades of yellow, allowing you to highlight armor or accentuate golden foliage.
The highly publicized black and white color scheme of classic samurai films adds drama to the compositions.
Sucker Punch advises players to experiment with the features provided to find the perfect settings for each photo.
