Company Phoenix labs shared the first details of the update “Call of the abyss“For a free co-op role-playing action Dauntless. The update will be available on June 11 at Nintendo switch, Xbox one, Playstation 4 and pc in Epic Games Store with full support for cross-platform games.
“Call of the Abyss” will open access to a new Ascent – the seasonal test of Dauntless. It will send players into the bowels of the mysterious new islands, where the Beasts fell under the influence of the mysterious Shadow ether and received new special attacks and battle styles.
The final chord of the Shadow Ascent will be the battle with the serpentine Monster, using portals to confuse the heroes and attack from an unexpected direction. Victory will bring Rangers blueprints for creating powerful legendary weapons. Each such weapon contains two prismatic gene slots, can be “connected” to another gloomy weapon and gives Rangers the legendary ability of Trax to use portals.
You can access the Shadow Climbing through the Hunt screen, as well as the previous Flaming and Electric ones. For the first time during the Call of the Abyss season, a developing plot will appear in Dauntless that will have a lasting impact on the entire gaming world.. Users will notice changes in the coming weeks: their decisions will directly affect the development of the plot and will result in a big surprise in the next Dauntless update, which will be available in July.
The Call of the Abyss season will also open the way to the training island, where Rangers will be able to test each class of weapon in a safe area. As the developers explained, the point is not only that players and their squads can join the training and easily test any weapon. Training Island’s interface displays damage size and DPS for the first time in the game.
This interface also reflects different types of damage: stun, parts, wounds, basic damage, so that players can learn each weapon and a combination of genes. Beginners can choose a weapon and study the list of available tricks and combos to get better acquainted with the selected type of weapon. When they get used to it, the time will come for more detailed tips and viewing the animation of tricks in the menu “List of tricks”.
The Call of the Abyss season will also bring a number of general improvements and other features to the game, including a magazine of information about Monsters, NPCs and much more, full localization in Russian, an improvement in the interface, and more intuitive avoidance.
