Tencent buys developers Crackdown 3 and Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Chinese IT giant Tencent in the near future plans to complete the deal on the purchase of the British Sumo Group. This was reported by agency sources. Reuters

The deal will amount to about $ 1.27 billion. Prior to this, the Tencent holding was the second largest shareholder of the company (8.75%).

Sumo Group management believes that the company will only benefit from the deal by gaining access to the vast ecosystem of the Chinese IT giant.

Over the past few years, Sumo Group has expanded significantly and now includes about 13 studios, among which we can distinguish Sumo digital (Crackdown 3, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Hood: Outlaws & Legends, OutRun 2), The chinese room (Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture), Red Kite Games (God of War III: Remastered and Battletoads), Lab 42 (Yakuza 0 and Snooker 19), PixelAnt etc.
