Tasmanian Tiger is back – dated release of the updated version of the platformer TY the Tasmanian Tiger for consoles

Developers from the Australian studio Krome studios in the latest news update On the Kickstarter crowdfunding site, the release dates for the three-dimensional platform game about the adventures of the Tasmanian tiger named Tai for the Nintendo Switch console were announced. The remaster will be available at the Nintendo eShop digital store on March 31 this year.

According to the comments of the developers, the version for the PlayStation 4 will appear “as soon as possible after release for Switch”, and release for Xbox One is expected “thereafter”. Versions for Sony and Microsoft consoles will get support for online leaderboards.

Remaster TY the Tasmanian Tiger will receive various visual improvements, including environmental occlusion, full-fledged dynamic shadows, more accurate color correction and bloom, an improved particle system, HD textures of the environment and characters. The gameplay will also undergo processing, in particular, the developers promise to change the behavior of the camera and add a hardcore mode, where players only have one life left.

TY the Tasmanian Tiger was first launched for consoles Playstation 2, Xbox and Gamecube in October 2002. HD remaster of the original PC game (Steam) was released in December 2016, and later on Valve were released second, the third and the fourth parts of a series.

On Kickstarter, the game collected the required amount in just three days, and a total of 2553 backers brought the creators a little more than 132,000 US dollars. This allowed us to plan a console release of the project.
