Shortly after the announcement Mafia: Trilogy for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC systems in the digital store Microsoft store individual pages of updated versions of the first and second parts of the franchise appeared with debut screenshots, details and release dates of both games.
Description Mafia: Definitive Edition confirms that developers from Hangar 13 they’re preparing not just a remaster version with HD resolution, which would be strange given the age of the game, but a full-fledged remake created from scratch, which will delight not only with new features and a completely updated visual component with a thorough reconstruction of the city of Lost Haven, but will also offer an expanded storyline. It is emphasized separately that the original soundtrack will be preserved.

As for the second part, here, judging by the images, the changes will no longer be so widespread. Moreover, in the description of the game, in addition to the “high-resolution graphics” and all the DLCs in the kit, nothing more is mentioned about the features. The size of the game is 43.79 GB.

According to the Microsoft Store, remake of Mafia: Definitive Edition goes on sale August 28th, despite the fact that the remaster of the second part can be bought already May 19th – right on the day of the planned presentation of the trilogy.
As a bonus, the Mafia remake will offer Tommy’s costume and taxi for remasters of the second and third Mafia, and for the purchase of Mafia II: Definitive Edition, a leather jacket and Vito’s car are included for the first and third games of the series, respectively.
