Switch and PC owners in flight – Mortal Kombat 11 crossplay will only work between Xbox and PlayStation

Yesterday NetherRealm Studios announced an updated version Mortal kombat 11 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. It will be available to game owners for current consoles for free and will be released on November 17th along with Kombat pack 2 and the complete edition of the fighting game. On the same day, the game will receive crossplay support, however, as it turned out, it has limitations

On the support site WB Games posted a crossplay FAQ for MK11, clarifying that it will only work between Xbox and PlayStation consoles of both generations, and will not appear on PC, Nintendo Switch, or Google Stadia.

In addition, it turned out that crossplay will only work in casual modes, and for playing with users of opposite platforms (for example, between Xbox One and PS4 or Xbox Series X and PS5 players), it will be necessary to unite through dedicated crossplay rooms. “Alien” players will be marked with an icon in the form of two crossed arrows.

Recall that the Kombat Pack 2 will include Mileena, Rain and a new guest character – Rambo.
