To the editors of the portal Gamemag.ru another device from the company came to the test Steelseries – Sensei ten. This is a wired mouse for Windows, Mac, Linux and consolesdesigned for fans of competitive games and e-sportsmen. We tested the new product and are in a hurry to share our impressions.
Recommended retail price in Russia is around 5 490 rubles. The device comes in a small orange-white box, which also includes small documentation.
SteelSeries Sensei Ten made of soft-touch plastic – it is nice to hold it in your hand. The shape of the device is symmetrical and completely streamlined, so the gadget is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed people – it is convenient to hold it with almost any grip.
The length of the wire is 2 meters. It comes in a standard rubber braid. In total, the gadget has 8 buttons.
Four additional buttons are located on the side faces, two on each side. Whatever hand you control the mouse, the thumb and ring finger will always be next to these buttons.
On the upper plane, everything is quite traditional for this type of manipulator. In addition to the rubberized scroll wheel and two keys, there is also a button that changes the sensitivity of the mouse sensor, which can vary from 50 to 18,000 CPI. The device is easy to configure for yourself and then quickly take aim in shooters.
On the side opposite from the main buttons there is a translucent logo Steelseries, which together with the “wheel” is highlighted in different colors and to the beat of the sounds. They can be configured in the application. SteelSeries Engine 3 – the program works like on Windowsso Mac.
There you can update the device, set the mouse sensitivity, response frequency, smoothing corners (to compensate for user errors in the form of small jerks and twitches of the hand), adjust the acceleration, reassign buttons and register macros.
The sensitivity parameters of the optical sensor and the assigned buttons are stored on the mouse itself, which will be convenient if you use it on multiple computers.
Of unusual features SteelSeries Engine 3 – Special applications for certain programs or games. They allow the mouse to signal the state of the character in the game world with the help of light indicators. However, due to the fact that your hand blocks these same indicators during the game, the real benefit tends to zero.
And what’s really cool – SteelSeries Sensei Ten uses an optical sensor TrueMove ProThanks to which the device can be used on almost any surface. The accuracy of the cursor is maintained even if you slightly raise the mouse while moving. This point may be useful to those players who prefer to play with a low CPI parameter.
The manufacturer assures that Sensei ten made of a special polymer that must withstand even the most severe conditions. Of course, we did not specifically break the mouse on the floor, but according to subjective sensations, despite its lightness, it feels solid. If you specifically compress it and aggressively push the buttons, the device does not emit any unnecessary creaks and clicks. There is no hint that the mouse may break due to this.
During testing, the buttons worked always on time and clearly. Double taps and depressions after a month of active use were not observed.
SteelSeries Sensei Ten – A very comfortable and durable wired mouse with a symmetrical design that will suit both right-handed and left-handed people. Thanks to its high sensitivity and flexible tuning options via SteelSeries Engine 3, the device is perfect for both professional players and ordinary users.
