Square Enix has opened a division for the development of advanced artificial intelligence – will be used in games

Company Square enix announced the opening of a new unit Square Enix AI & ARTS Alchemy, which will be engaged in new developments in the field of artificial intelligence. It is planned that they will be used both in games and other types of entertainment. The ultimate goal is to change the old concept of “entertaining AI.”

Square Enix AI & ARTS Alchemy’s CEO will be Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda, and Remy Driancourt, Chief Technology Officer, will take over as president and chief operating officer. Among the merits of the latter is work on Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XV and technodemo Witch.

AI Chief Research Officer Yuchiro Miyake, who recently worked on artificial intelligence for the Luminous Studio engine, will take over as Chief Technology Officer, while Takeshi Nozue will become Artistic Director.

The latter was noted for working on videos and animations for many games in the Final Fantasy series, as well as one of the directors of the animated film Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and tapes Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV.
