In the recently released platformer artbook Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the first customers noticed an unexpected surprise – a neatly hidden reference to the dragon Spyro from the franchise of the same name Spyro the dragon, originated like “Crash“, on the original Playstation…
So, in the description of one of the locations, the artist Frank Plump talks about his vision of the futuristic level, and at the end makes a direct remark towards the famous dragon, ending the paragraph with the words “… and there is also a small sketch of Spyro“.
And, as it turned out, the dragon in the illustration can indeed be clearly seen:
Moreover, under the silhouette is written “SPYRO”, and below is the number “4”.
Given such an overt reference, many fans Spyro the dragon sure that in this way the publishing house Activision prepares players for the announcement of the new part of the famous series of platformers.
Such a scenario looks extremely logical, because by now the revival Spyro and Crash repeated literally in a mirror image – first, both series received full-fledged remakes of the original trilogies, and then the obnoxious bandicoot returned in a new Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time… If there is no mistake, there is probably an official announcement of the new release. Spyro the dragon you won’t have to wait long.
