Executive director of the studio 1047 Games Ian Prouh said that the open beta of a network first-person shooter Splitgate extended indefinitely.
Initially, version 1.0 was planned to be released at the end of July, but due to the unexpected popularity of the game, which led to problems with servers, the release was postponed to August.
Pruh notes that in the first 30 days of the open beta, Splitgate was downloaded 10 million times. At the same time, the peak online has grown from 4 thousand to 175 thousand concurrent players in just a few weeks.
“The process of addressing server-side scalability concerns involves a lot more than just server capacity. We are focused on maintaining stability and peak online play to minimize player wait times.
We want to do it right and be prepared for the influx of players after the official release, while continuing to improve the beta with frequent updates, additional features and server capacity improvements. ”- Ian Prue.
Authors toldthat already on August 25 within the framework of the exhibition gamescom will share some news about Splitgate.
