Creative director of the studio Insomniac Games Brian Intihar responded to fan criticism of Peter Parker’s updated appearance in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered for PlayStation 5.
“The news of Peter Parker’s new face has surprised some of you, and we at Insomniac fully understand your reaction. Heck, even it took me a while to get used to Peter’s new look. But as we discussed the future of the franchise and the transition on PS5, it became apparent that in order to create even more believable characters, it was necessary to find a more suitable face for the actor Yuri Leventhal, whom we all love as Peter. so you know the decision was not hasty. “
Intichar noted that the studio will continue to listen to fans to make the game better, however the developers are confident in the correctness of the change in the appearance of Peter Parker and urge fans to trust them…
“We believe this will have a better impact on the future of the franchise and our upcoming goals for this character.”
Peter Parker’s face model has been replaced on technical issues, Insomniac Games says, since it was important for them to achieve a more accurate correspondence of the character’s facial animation with the acting of the actor Yuri Loventhal. On his Twitter account, he left a short message, confirming that this is the reason.
“Guys. My face is to blame. The stupid bones of my face. The reason is this.”
Marvel’s Spider-Man: Remastered will be released on PlayStation 5 alongside Spider-Man: Miles Morales on November 19th. The remaster will only be available as part of the extended edition of the new game.
