Sony questioned the choice of Tom Holland for the role of Spider-Man

In a new interview, the directors brothers Russo (“Avengers: Endgame”) told that the studio Sony had doubts about Tom Holland in the role Spiderman

According to the brothers, when Holland was casting, Kevin Feige I immediately liked the candidacy of the actor. Then the authors went to Sony, whose representatives expressed their doubts about the correctness of such a decision.

Russo insisted on Holland’s candidacy, over and over again proving loyalty to their position – but Sony continued to doubt. The studio representatives were worried as they had to borrow the character, which was bringing them millions of dollars, to a nearby studio (Marvel).

According to Anthony Russo, the studio was also embarrassed by the artist’s age, but in the end Sony had to give up. During the casting process, the young actor was greatly helped and Robert Downey Jr. – according to him, many talents applied for the role of Spider, but Holland had the perfect inner balance and confidence that suited the character.

Meanwhile, the Spider-Man triquel subtitled “There is no way home” will be released in Russia on December 16.
