According to Ryan, active work is underway to transform the PlayStation brand and take it outside the console market. The company plans to attract new audiences on PC and mobile devices, as well as through the creation of films and series based on its franchises, advertising in anime and the launch of new game services.

Sony also plans to increase the number of games published with service elements that will be profitable for many years after launch. Microtransactions in shareware projects from third-party developers like Fortnite, Apex legends, Genshin impact and Call of duty warzone, generated 25% of revenue PlayStation Store in the past financial year.

The first mobile games based on key PlayStation Studios franchises will be available before the end of March 2023and they aim to expand the brand’s audience. Sony does not expect mobile releases to make huge bucks straight away, but revenue from this segment is predicted to grow over time, as will revenue from sales of PC games.
