Square Enix announced Balan wonderworld – 3D platformer from the legendary author of the series Sonic the Hedgehog Yuji Naki and his friend Naoto Oshima, who created Sonic and Doctor Robotnik. The project will be released in Spring 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The Steam page is already open. From there you can get the first information about the game.
Balan Wonderworld is an action platformer set around the Balan Theater. Players will take control of Emma and Leo, the stars of a troupe led by the mysterious maestro Balan. Heroes use the abilities of different costumes in a grotesque and bizarre World of Wonders, where memories and dreams from the real world merge with what people truly value.
In the World of Wonders, 12 fairy tales await Emma and Leo, none of which are alike. They will be able to explore every corner of the maze levels full of mysteries and traps to get to the heart of each story.
The authors note that the World of Wonders exists in the heads and hearts of people. Set in a fantastic and bizarre land where happy memories mingle with fears and bad thoughts, a mysterious clown takes the heroes to this world, where Emma and Leo go in search of what really matters to them. To return home, the heroes need to restore balance in their souls.
Players will experience an exciting plot and a dynamic magical world. For the first time in 20 years, Naka Yuji and Oshima Naoto have teamed up and, under the auspices of Square Enix, assembled a team to create a new game. The developers of Balan Wonderworld enlisted the support of professionals in the gaming, video and music industries, looking for people both inside and outside the Japanese company.
