Recently it was reported that NVIDIA can buy ARM from the Japanese telecommunications giant SoftBank Group… But now new data have been published on this subject.
According to the publication NikkeiSoftBank plans to retain its stake in ARM even if it sells part of the chip developer. In addition, an initial public offering (IPO) is under consideration, although this is only one option.
Another option is the merger of NVIDIA and ARM, while SoftBank will act as a major shareholder in the future conglomerate. This will keep control and prevent the green team from monopolizing the market. It is also considering the possibility of acquiring a stake in NVIDIA after the company itself buys ARM.
In general, the situation is still in limbo, so it’s too early to draw conclusions.
