French game portal Clubic posted gameplay recordings of improved versions online Gears 5 and Gears Tactics for Xbox series xshowing how both projects work and look on next-gen consoles.
Both games run on Xbox Series X in resolution 4K with speed 60 frames per second… However, in multiplayer, Gears 5 supports 4K mode at 120 frames… In its preview of the Xbox Series X site Ars Technica noted this fact, impressed by how well the shooter performs at 120 FPS on the new console and is not inferior when compared to the PC version at ultra settings, running on a system for $ 1500… The journalists also emphasized that the game runs as smoothly as possible, and during the hours of testing, the console noise under load was barely audible.
As for the single player, a comparison of the same Gears 5 frames showed that the computer version with ultra-settings visually only slightly outperforms the game on the Xbox Series X, and this is mostly due to the excellent ambient occlusion on the PC, however, it also ran on more powerful i7-8700K and RTX 3080… For pretty much everything else, be it draw distance, shadow resolution, and geometry detail, the Series X goes head to head.

Ars Technica also compared Gears 5 for download speed. Testing different saves from the Gears 5 campaign found that the game loaded an average of 75 percent better: where the Xbox Series X did in 12 seconds, on a PC with NVMe 3.0 it took 53 seconds to load identical content.
