Seagate Confirms Solid State Drive FireCuda 530 will be compatible with PS5… The company has tested the device and made sure it meets all the requirements. The FireCuda 530 comes with and without a heatsink, connects via PCIe 4.0 and has a 7.3 GB / s read speed, in excess of the 5.5 GB / s required for a PS5 drive.
Varieties and cost of models
- SSD 500 GB – $ 140 (10 thousand rubles);
- SSD for 1 TB – $ 240 (18 thousand rubles);
- SSD 2 TB – 490 dollars (36 thousand rubles);
- SSD 4 TB – $ 950 (36 thousand rubles).
Seagate clarified that the PS5’s SSD slot is quite narrow, but the FireCuda 530 is a very thin SSD, so it will fit into a console even with a heatsink.
Earlier it was reported that Sony will unlock the M.2 slot in the summer of 2023 – the company turned it off for fear of overheating. The FireCuda 530 will go on sale in August.
